We are seeking motivated and independent postdoc and Ph.D. students to work on molecular simulations of polymers and biomolecules. The projects include investigating conformations, physical properties of polymers, peptides, proteins, and RNAs, building data-driven approaches to predict the structural and physical properties of these soft materials, and free energy calculations of small drug molecules in different environments.
Position 1: Postdoctoral Researcher at Louisiana State University Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics or closely related field. Substantial research experience in computational chemistry. Strong computer skills: Linux, Python, etc. Experience with a variety of techniques: LAMMPS, NAMD, GROMACS, AMBER, DFT, ORCA, etc. Good publication record. Starting date: The position is open beginning as early as August 15, 2022. The position is initially a one-year appointment, but funding is available for a second year.
Position 2: Ph.D. students Prospective students are expected to have received or will receive a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Chemical engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, and other relevant fields. Strong background in mathematics, coding/computation, thermodynamics, chemical physics, or materials design is preferred but not required. GRE and TOEFL might be required for graduate applications. Starting date: Jan. 2023
